FAQ - Marquee Hire in Hereford
How Large a Marquee Do I Need?
Two good rules are:
1. For a buffet event: a minimum of 8 square feet per person
2. For a seated event: a minimum of 15 square feet per person.
Then add space for other requirements such as dance floors, catering tables, music centres etc. This will give you a general idea of your size requirement.
Do You Supply Just the Marquee?
No. We can supply furniture, lighting and flooring. We have links with other event companies, who can arrange catering equipment table, decorations to suit whatever your requirements are. We also can provide venues for your event.
Can Tents be Opened in Warm Weather?
Yes, the walls of our marquees can be easily opened and secured. We can demonstrate how to do this so the decision can be left until the day of the event.
Do We Need Heaters & Are They Warm Enough?
Even in summer a heater maybe necessary, we suggest that you budget for a heater just in case, and make the decision in the week prior to your event when you have seen the weather forecast. Our heating is ducted and thermostatically controlled.
Are Marquees Suitable for Winter?
Decked out appropriately (different forms of table decorations and lighting effects rather than flowers) marquees make ideal venues for winter parties. As stated in question above heating is no issue.
What is the Difference Between Lined & Unlined Marquees?
Lined marquees are more luxurious and are an essential element of a traditional wedding style marquee. With unlined marquees, the PVC walls and marquee structure are fully visible, ideally suited for a fuctional or informal events.
What Colours Are Your Marquees?
All our marquees are made of white lacquered PVC.
How Safe Are Your Marquees?
All our marquees are made from materials that conform to British Standard Specifications and fully fire resistant. We also have insurance cover. (See question)
Can I Make Last Minute Changes to My Marquee?
Within reason... Requests for extras like furniture, flooring etc should be made early in the week leading up to installation or earlier. For a change of size, maybe a possible depending on availability. However, requests for changes 5 minutes before the start of your function is a near on impossibility.
How Long is The Marquee Hire Period?
The length of the marquee hire period is by prior arrangement.
When Will The Marquee be Erected / Taken Down?
Usually supply and installation happens 2/3 days prior to your event, weather permitting, and dismantled 1/2 days after. If you have a special requirement please let us knows and we will accommodate.
Can Marquees be Erected on Uneven Ground?
Marquees can be erected on sloping or uneven ground by using adjustable platforms; however, there would be additional cost for this service. This can transform the most unpromising site into a perfect venue.
Do Your Marquees Stand Up In Inclement Weather?
Our marquees are sturdy, and we always ensure that they are properly anchored.
Can The Marquee Be Attached To a Building?
Yes, our marquees can serve as an 'extension' to a building as long as the space is suitable. Covered walkways are another option.
Do You Have Insurance Cover?
Damage waiver against damage to persons or equipment caused through negligence by County Marquees is included in all our quotes, but we advise that you insure against cancellations and wilful damage. (See terms and conditions)
Will Your Marquee Damage My Garden / Grass?
Temporarily yes. Grass that has been covered for several days will not look its best, but recovery is quick. We are always careful not to damage plants or flower beds whether they are used in the marquee or outside.
